Terms of use

1. Who we are

HEOR Africa Academy is the online learning service of HEOR Africa, with offices in Kigali, Rwanda, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ("we", "us"). You can reach us athello@heorafrica.com.

2. Your account

  • You need an account to enrol in a course. Give accurate details, because your name appears on certificates.
  • Your account is for you alone. Do not share your password or let another person use your access.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Access to courses

  • A course purchase gives you access to that course. A bundle gives access to all courses in the bundle. A 30-day pass gives access to all published courses for 30 days from the day your payment is confirmed.
  • Passes do not renew automatically. We send a reminder before a pass ends.
  • Organisation seats are assigned by the organisation that bought them. Each seat is for one named learner.
  • We may update, replace or withdraw course material. If we withdraw a course you paid for before you could reasonably complete it, we will offer a comparable course or a refund.

4. Use of course material

  • Videos, text, slides, exercises and code are provided for your personal learning. They are shown in your browser and are not available to download.
  • You may not record, copy, redistribute or resell course material, or share it with people who are not enrolled.
  • Videos carry a visible mark with the email address of the account that is watching.
  • Code you write in exercises is yours. Example code in lessons may be reused in your own work.

5. Certificates

A certificate confirms that you completed a course on the Academy, including its quizzes. It is not an academic degree or a professional licence. Each certificate has a public web address that others can use to check it. We may withdraw a certificate obtained by misusing the service.

6. Questions and comments

Comments on lessons are reviewed before they appear. Keep them relevant and respectful, and do not post personal or confidential data. We may edit or remove comments.

7. Payment and refunds

Prices are shown in US dollars, with an indicative amount in some local currencies. The amount you pay may differ slightly because of exchange rates and charges set by your payment provider. Refunds are described in the refund policy.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Academy available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Streaming quality depends on your connection and device.

9. Ending access

You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing access or copying material.

10. Liability

Courses teach methods. They are not advice for a specific decision, and you remain responsible for how you apply what you learn. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda. This clause, and the limits in section 10, will be confirmed during legal review.

12. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell you by email or when you next sign in.
